Reportedly, OMC Power is planning to invest Rs 40 billion to develop a 1,000 MWp renewable energy portfolio over the next three to five years.
This will mark a tenfold expansion from its current operational capacity of 100 MWp. The company is backed by Japan’s Mitsui & Co and Chubu Electric Power. It plans to implement the capacity across four verticals; 600 MWp in rooftop solar for the healthcare sector, 200 MWp for green energy supply to telecom towers, 100 MWp in smart grids for rural areas, and 100 MWp in solar engineering procurement and construction services for medium  and C&I customers. The projects will be spread across key states including Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Assam, and other northeastern regions.
