Larsen & Toubro’s (L&T)Renewables business has secured an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) order to develop a 116 MWac grid-connected solar photovoltaic (PV) plant integrated with a 241 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) at Kajra in Lakhisarai district, Bihar.
This takes the total co-located storage capacity to 495 MWh. The project will deploy a 4-hour BESS solution equipped with liquid cooling technology to enhance power density, safety, and lifecycle performance. It will enable energy time-shifting by storing surplus solar power and discharging it during peak demand periods.
