Reportedly, NTPC Limited is set to invest about Rs 800 billion in solar and wind power projects across Telangana.
The investment will include floating solar projects with an estimated potential of 6,700 MW in the state. The initiative aligns with Telangana’s renewable energy policy which targets the addition of 20,000 MW of renewable and storage capacity by 2030. They aim for over 30.5 GW of cumulative capacity by 2030 and 47 GW by 2035. The state also plans to deploy 6,000 electric vehicle charging stations by 2029-2030 and then doubling this to 12,000 by 2024-2035.
