Egypt’s AOI inaugurates production line for HV and UHV electricity towers

Egypt’s Arab Organisation for Industrialisation (AOI) and Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy have inaugurated a new production line for high voltage (HV) and ultra-high voltage (UHV) electricity towers at its aircraft factory to localise technology and increase domestic manufacturing.

The facility is equipped with advanced digital manufacturing machinery. The new line has an initial annual production capacity of 15,000 tonnes, with plans to increase to 30,000 tonnes by the end of 2025. AOI aims to achieve self-sufficiency and meet the ministry’s needs for power towers nationwide at competitive prices and international quality standards. Future plans also include expanding to serve regional markets. The electricity ministry supports the initiative as part of broader efforts to transfer modern technology and prioritise local products, especially in renewable energy.
