Shanghai Electric has completed all assessments and the final handover of the 500 MW Manah-1 Solar Independent Power Project (IPP) in Oman.
The project, developed under Oman’s Vision 2040 national blueprint for sustainable energy, will generate 1.5 billion kWh of electricity annually and cut carbon emissions by 780,000 tonnes per year, equivalent to removing 170,000 gasoline-powered cars from the road. Shanghai Electric provided end-to-end solutions covering design, procurement, construction, and long-term O&M services. The project was implemented in partnership with France’s EDF under a dual-track agreement to meet Oman’s strict technical requirements.
