The Andhra Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission (APERC) has issued first amendments to the draft APERC (The Grid Interactive Solar Rooftop Photovoltaic Systems Under Net/Gross Metering) Regulation, 2023.
The draft amendment aims to align the rooftop solar framework with the Integrated Clean Energy (ICE) Policy, 2024, which targets 50 per cent of cumulative electric power capacity from non-fossil fuel sources by 2030 and net-zero emissions by 2047 in the state. The draft provides for the promotion of decentralised renewable energy generation, integration of hybrid power projects and energy storage systems, and inclusion of green hydrogen initiatives under the regulatory framework. It also aims to encourage investments and capacity building in clean energy manufacturing in Andhra Pradesh.
