Iraq secured an extension of power supply agreement with Jordan’s National Electric Power Company (NEPCO) for one year.
The extension will ensure continued supply to the Rutbah area until September 27, 2025 or until the 400 kV Jordan–Iraq electricity interconnection line is fully operational. The latter involves the construction of a 336-km line connecting the Al-Risha substation in Jordan with the Al-Qaim substation in Iraq and is in the final stages of construction, testing and synchronisation.
