Sunsure Energy has signed a 15-year battery energy discharge purchase agreement with NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam Limited (NVVN), a wholly-owned subsidiary of NTPC Limited, for setting up a 125 MW/500 MWh standalone battery energy storage system (BESS) in Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh.
The project will be developed under the build-own-operate model, with power supplied to NVVN and Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL). Sunsure will provide four hours of on-demand power between 6 PM and 10 AM, enabling UPPCL to access clean energy during peak demand hours at long-term competitive tariffs.
