LTEG partners with ITOCHU for green ammonia project

L&T Energy GreenTech Limited (LTEG), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Larsen & Toubro Limited, has signed a joint development agreement with ITOCHU Corporation of Japan to set up a 300,000 tonnes per annum green ammonia project at Kandla, Gujarat. As part of the agreement, LTEG and ITOCHU will collaborate on project development, with ITOCHU planning to offtake the ammonia for bunkering operations in Singapore. The facility will be developed on land acquired by L&T last year for green hydrogen and green ammonia projects at Kandla. The initiative is aligned with ITOCHU’s plan to supply low-carbon ammonia to the maritime sector and with LTEG’s strategy to expand across the green energy value chain.
