Adani Power Limited has secured a letter of award (LoA) from Madhya Pradesh Power Management Company Limited (MPPMCL) for a total capacity of 1,600 MW by following the exercise of a greenshoe option.
This includes 800 MW of additional capacity, building on a previous award of 800 MW under the same tender. Power will be supplied from a greenfield ultra-supercritical thermal power plant to be developed on a design build finance and operate basis in Anuppur district, Madhya Pradesh. The plant will comprise two units of 800 MW each and is expected to be commissioned within 60 months. The tariff has been set at Rs 5.84 per kWh and the project will benefit from coal linkage under the SHAKTI policy.
