Adani Power signs PSA with BSPGCL for supply of 2,400 MW power

Adani Power Limited has signed a 25-year power supply agreement (PSA) with the Bihar State Power Generation Company Limited (BSPGCL) for the supply of 2,400 MW of power from a greenfield ultra-supercritical thermal plant to be set up at Pirpainti, Bhagalpur district, Bihar.

The project was awarded under the design, build, finance, own and operate model with fuel linkage secured through the SHAKTI Policy. APL had earlier received the letter of intent on and a letter of award for long-term electricity procurement on behalf of North Bihar Power Distribution Company Limited and South Bihar Power Distribution Company Limited. APL emerged as the lowest bidder with a quoted tariff of Rs 6.075 per kWh. The project will comprise three units of 800 MW each and entails a total investment of approximately USD3 billion.
