Serentica Renewables has signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with the Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI) for the supply of 100 MW of round-the-clock (RTC) renewable power under a load-following model.
This is India’s first such PPA, designed in coordination with SECI and state distribution companies to match the seasonal and hourly demand profile of the offtakers. Serentica will be required to meet 80 per cent of the specified hourly demand each month, with load obligations ranging from 17 MW during off-peak periods to 100 MW during peak hours. To meet this requirement, the company will deploy a mix of wind, solar and battery energy storage systems. The project is expected to supply over 400 GWh of clean energy annually.
