The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has approved a USD52.72 million loan to support the grid expansion project in Cambodia.
The initiative will boost the national transmission network, enable greater integration of renewable energy, and address the country’s increasing electricity demand with locally generated clean power. To accommodate this progress, the initiative will construct 55 km of 230 kV transmission lines between Pursat and Kampong Chhnang. Additionally, it will upgrade nine substations across the country. Furthermore, the initiative is aligned with Cambodia’s Power Development Master Plan (2022-2040) and the National Energy Efficiency Policy (2022-2030).
