REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL) has handed over a project-specific special purpose vehicle (SPV) of the interstate transmission system project, Davanagere Power Transmission Limited, to Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID).
POWERGRID has emerged as the transmission service provider through a tariff-based competitive bidding process for the development of the transmission project on a build, own, operate, and transfer basis. The scheme covers augmentation of transformation capacity at Davanagere PS by 1×1500 MVA 765/400 kV ICT & 4×500 MVA 400/220 kV ICTs, along with 220 kV line bays. The estimated cost of the project is around Rs 3.66 billion.
