Reportedly, Ola Electric Limited has entered into the battery energy storage system (BESS) market with the launch of Ola Shakti, a residential energy storage solution developed through its gigafactory using 4,680 bharat cells.
Ola Shakti will be available in four configurations; 1.5 kWh, 3 kWh, 5.2 kWh, and 9.1 kWh and priced at Rs 29,999, Rs 55,999, Rs 119,999 and Rs 159,999 respectively for the first 10,000 units. The company stated that its gigafactory’s annual BESS-related consumption is expected to scale up to 5 GWh in the coming years, surpassing its automotive battery demand.
