EDF Power Solutions has signed a 30-year corporate power purchase agreement (CPPA) with Taiwan Smart Electricity & Energy Company Limited (TSEE) for the 440 MW Wei Lan Hai Changhua (WLHC) offshore wind project.
EDF is the majority stakeholder in the project, which was awarded in 2022 and is part of Taiwan’s broader offshore wind expansion programme targeting 10.8 GW by 2030. The WLHC project is expected to generate approximately 1,700 GWh of renewable energy annually once operational. TSEE, a newly formed government-backed aggregator, will facilitate energy offtake to meet growing corporate renewable energy demand under initiatives such as RE100.
