Mitsubishi Power and JEL secure contract for 670 MW hydrogen-ready CCGT plant in Singapore

Mitsubishi Power and Jurong Engineering Limited (JEL) have secured an engineering and construction contract from PacificLight Power Limited to develop a 670 MW combined cycle gas turbine (CCGT) facility on Jurong Island, Singapore.

The facility will be Singapore’s first CCGT plant integrated with a large-scale battery energy storage system. The plant will feature Mitsubishi Power’s M701JAC gas turbine with 64 per cent combined cycle efficiency. The unit will initially operate with 30 per cent hydrogen blending, with provisions to transition to 100 per cent hydrogen in the future.
