GEAPP facilitates $1 billion in clean energy financing in India in 2025

The Global Energy Alliance for People and Planet (GEAPP) has released its 2025 Impact Report, highlighting its role in unlocking $1 billion in clean energy financing in India. The alliance has supported 26 projects in the country, improving energy access for 49 million people, supporting livelihoods for 2.2 million individuals and reducing 166 million tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions. Among the key initiatives is the commissioning of South Asia’s first commercial, standalone, utility-scale battery energy storage system at the Kilokari substation, New Delhi. GEAPP also supported the implementation of PM-KUSUM in Rajasthan, enabling the addition of 183 MW of solar capacity and 12,700 solar pumps between 2023 and 2025, taking the state past the 1 GW cumulative capacity milestone.
