Toshiba JSW Power Systems Private Limited has signed a contract with NTPC Limited to implement a centralised artificial intelligence (AI)-driven plant monitoring system across 165 power plants in India. The system is scheduled to begin operations in 2027 and will cover NTPC’s thermal and renewable power plants, including those under joint ventures and at the planning stage. It will be powered by EtaPRO™, Toshiba’s advanced predictive analytics platform, which supports over 763 GW of generation capacity globally. The system will collect and analyse real-time sensor data to detect equipment anomalies, automate maintenance and reduce downtime. It will also support root cause analysis and long-term performance optimisation, enhancing reliability and operational efficiency across NTPC’s fleet.
