Ghana is set to develop a 1,000 MWp solar park at Agortor in the Dawa Industrial Enclave, Greater Accra Region. The project is being developed by Solar for Industries Limited, a subsidiary of LMI Holdings and is planned to be executed in multiple phases through 2032. The initial phase will add 100 MWp by December 2026, followed by a second 100 MWp tranche expected nine months later. The full capacity of 1 GWp will represent the largest private utility-scale solar facility in sub-Saharan Africa outside South Africa and contribute approximately 2 per cent to Ghana’s total electricity supply.
