State Grid Corporation of China (SGCC) has commissioned the first phase of the 750 kV transmission line expansion project for the Zhangye power plant in Gansu province. The Ganye II line was energised , marking a major milestone under Gansu’s 14th five-year plan. The 80.51 km transmission line extends from the 750 kV step-up substation at Zhangye power plant to the 750 kV Zhangye Ganzhou substation, comprising both single- and double-circuit configurations. The project included construction of 169 towers and expansion of two outgoing bays, adding over 4,000 MW of new transmission capacity to the grid.
