TotalEnergies, Toyota Tsusho and Altaaqa Renewable Energy (Zahid Group) have commenced commercial operations of its 112 MW solar photovoltaic plant at Wadi Ad-Dawasir, Saudi Arabia. It is built by a Power China subsidiary and marks TotalEnergies’ first renewable energy installation in the Kingdom and will supply power to over 15,000 homes. The electricity is sold under a long-term power purchase agreement with the Saudi Power Procurement Company. The project is part of round 3 of the National Renewable Energy Program and is aligned with Saudi Arabia’s vision 2030 goal of deriving 50 per cent of power generation from renewables.
