REMCL announces auction results for 1,000 MW RTC tender at Rs 4.35 per kWh

Railway Energy Management Company Limited (REMCL), a joint venture of Indian Railways and Rail India Technical and Economic Service Limited, has awarded its 1,000 MW round-the-clock (RTC) renewable power tender to six bidders at a uniform tariff of Rs 4.35 per kWh.

ACME Solar Holdings secured the largest allocation with 1,000 MW, followed by ReNew Power (200 MW), Bhalki Solar Power (200 MW), Purvah Green Power (180 MW), Jindal Green (150 MW), and Ayana Renewables (140 MW). The tender, issued in August 2025, concluded after five months of evaluation. Other bidders such as Solarcraft Power India, Jindal India Power, and Reliance Industries did not qualify under the tariff ceiling. The award follows Indian Railways’ broader push for RTC renewable capacity, including previous allocations to NTPC, O2 Power, Tata Power, and Torrent Power.
