Aslan Energy to develop USD2.3 billion green energy and mobility city in Indonesia

Aslan Energy Capital is set to develop a USD2.3 billion green energy and mobility citiy (MU CITY) in Karimun, Indonesia.

The company has signed a heads of agreement with the Government of Karimun Regency, Indonesia. The USD 2.3 billion investment marks the largest single project in the region and is intended to serve as a regional gateway for Indonesia’s low-carbon transition. MU CITY will include up to 2 GW of solar capacity and 2 GW of gas-based power. It will comprise three hubs — a clean energy hub with solar, battery energy storage systems, a mobility and manufacturing hub focused on electric vehicle assembly and green industry; and an artificial intelligence and digital infrastructure hub supporting 1.21 GW of hyperscale data centre capacity.
