Brookfield Asset Management has expanded its renewable energy portfolio in Southeast Asia through a series of acquisitions in the Philippines, Vietnam, and Thailand.
The firm has acquired Alba Renewables, which holds a 1.8 GW pipeline of wind, solar, and battery storage assets primarily in the Philippines and Thailand. In Vietnam, Brookfield has acquired a 100 MW operational wind project with a long-term power purchase agreement. The investments have been made through Brookfield’s Catalytic Transition Fund, which also recently announced a joint venture with Solarvest in Malaysia to develop over 1.5 GW of solar and battery energy storage projects.
