RVUNL awards 500 MW/2,000 MWh standalone BESS under VGF tender

Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (RVUNL) has announced the results of its viability gap funding (VGF) tender for 500 MW/2,000 MWh standalone battery energy storage systems (BESS) in Rajasthan.

The systems will be developed on a build-own-operate basis by six selected bidders. Patanjali Ayurved secured the largest allocation of 250 MW/1,000 MWh, while Ultravibrant Solar Energy, Rama Reflection India, Mecpower Solutions, Bhagwati Lacto Vegetarian Exports, and Diwakar Renewable & Infra each won 50 MW/200 MWh. All winning bids were quoted at a uniform tariff of Rs 285,000 per MW per month. The selected developers will sign 15-year power purchase agreements with RVUNL. The tender was floated in August 2025.
