The World Bank has partnered with Permodalan Darul Ta’zim (PDT) and Ditrolic Energy to develop the USD6 billion Southern Johor Renewable Energy Corridor (SJERC) in Malaysia.
The project forms a key component of the Johor–Singapore special economic zone and is aligned with the Johor Green Development Policy 2030. The initial phase of SJREC will include up to 4 GWp of solar capacity and 5.12 GWh of energy storage on a 10,000-acre site in Kota Tinggi and Mersing districts. The corridor will supply clean electricity to local and multinational consumers, including data centres and industrial units in Johor.
