H.G. Choraniya BESS, a wholly owned subsidiary of HG Infra Engineering, has signed a battery energy storage purchase agreement (BESPA) with Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL) for a 300 MW/600 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS).
The capacity was secured in GUVNL’s Phase VI auction for 500 MW/1,000 MWh of BESS in April 2025. Furthermore, the project will be developed on a build-own-operate basis. The project completion duration is 24 months, and the total project cost is estimated to be around Rs 6.70 billion. Additionally, the tariff is set at Rs 285,600 per MW, with a contract duration of 12 years. The BESS facilities will be made available to GUVNL for charging and discharging whenever required.
