ENGIE secures 280 MW/2-hour battery energy storage capacity in Gujarat

ENGIE has secured 280 MW/two-hour battery energy storage capacity in Gujarat through the Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL) auction. The project forms part of GUVNL’s 2 GW/4 GWh national tender and represents one of India’s largest standalone BESS awards to date. The contract marks ENGIE’s formal entry into utility-scale storage in India, taking its India portfolio to approximately 2.75 GW.
