TotalEnergies to power Google data centres in Malaysia with solar energy

TotalEnergies has signed a 21-year power supply agreement with Google to deliver 1 TWh of renewable energy to its data centres in Malaysia.

The energy will be sourced from the upcoming Citra Energies solar plant, scheduled to begin construction in early 2026. The contract will take effect in the first quarter of 2026. This marks the second such agreement between the two firms, following a similar deal in November to supply Google’s US-based data centres in Ohio. The move comes amid growing energy demands from AI-driven data infrastructure.
