GE Vernova T&D India secures contract for 2,500 MW HVDC terminal from AESL Projects

GE Vernova T&D India Limited has been awarded a contract by AESL Projects Limited for the design, supply, and execution of a 2,500 MW, ±500 kV high-voltage direct current (HVDC) voltage source converter (VSC) terminal station for the evacuation of renewable power from KPS 3 (Khavda) to South Olpad.

The scope of work covers the establishment of a 2×1,250 MW HVDC VSC terminal station and will be executed over multiple years. The contract has been awarded by a domestic entity and is aimed at strengthening high-capacity evacuation infrastructure for large-scale renewable energy integration from the Khavda renewable energy zone in Gujarat.
