Egypt has commenced construction of the ATUM Solar integrated industrial complex in Sokhna, with total investments of about USD210 million. Â The complex will comprise three manufacturing facilities with annual capacities of 2 GW for solar cell production, 2 GW for solar module manufacturing, and 1 GWh for energy storage systems. Solar cell output will be fully export-oriented, while modules and storage systems will cater to domestic and regional markets. The project is being developed by a consortium including JA Solar of China, AH of Egypt, Global South Utilities of the UAE, and Infinity Capital of Bahrain.
