The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has clarified that renewable energy projects supplying power exclusively to green hydrogen and green ammonia developers will be eligible for an exemption from the requirement to use solar cells listed under the approved list of models and manufacturers (ALMM) list-II. The relaxation applies to projects under the strategic interventions for Green hydrogen transition (SIGHT) programme’s Mode-2A and Mode-2B. According to the ministry, the exemption will be applicable to projects where the bid submission deadline was on or before August 31, 2025, irrespective of the commissioning date.
