Ambala Cantonment launches Rs 38 billion project to strengthen power distribution network

Reportedly, Ambala Cantonment has launched a Rs 38 billion power infrastructure upgradation project to modernise the electricity distribution system and improve supply reliability.

The initiative was inaugurated under the distribution sector improvement scheme and is targeted for completion within one year. The project scope includes the construction of seven new feeders to improve load balancing and ensure stable voltage across the city, along with the installation of 127 new distribution transformers to address long-standing voltage fluctuation issues. Several existing transformers located on roadsides and pedestrian pathways will be relocated to safer locations as part of the upgrade. In addition, a new substation is planned near Shahpur–Machhaunda to strengthen supply for areas located across the railway line.
