Morocco’s ONEE commissions 400 kV Sidi Bennour–Laawamer transmission line

Morocco’s Office National de l’Électricité et de l’Eau Potable (ONEE) has commissioned a new 400 kV double-circuit transmission line connecting Sidi Bennour and Laawamer.

The 98 km line has been energised following completion of construction works. The project involved an investment of about MAD 184 million and is aimed at increasing power transfer capacity between regions, supporting rising electricity demand and improving overall grid reliability and stability. The transmission line forms part of ONEE’s broader investment programme focused on securing and modernising the country’s transmission infrastructure and facilitating the integration of renewable energy.
