Masdar signs PPA for 200 MW floating solar project in Malaysia

Masdar has signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) for a 200 MW floating solar photovoltaic project at the Chereh Dam in Pahang State, marking its first renewable energy investment in Malaysia.

The project is expected to be the largest floating solar facility in Southeast Asia once completed.

The project will be developed by a Masdar-led consortium comprising Citaglobal and Tiza Global, with power to be sold under a long-term PPA to Tenaga Nasional Berhad. The project was awarded under Malaysia’s Large Scale Solar Cycle 5+ programme and secured the lowest discovered tariff in the floating solar category.
