T&T Group has commenced commercial operations of the 300 MW Savan 1 wind power project in Savannakhet province, Lao People’s Democratic Republic.
The commissioning covers phase I of the project. Savan 1 is being developed with a total planned capacity of up to 495 MW, with Phase I involving an investment of over USD 490 million. The project has been granted a 25-year concession by the Government of Laos, allowing Savan 1 Wind Power Company Limited to design, build, own and operate the facility to export electricity to Vietnam. T&T Group has constructed a 220 kV transmission line of over 50 km linking the wind farm to the Vietnamese grid.
