Dilip Buildcon secures 400 kV Mekhali substation project in Karnataka

Dilip Buildcon Limited has secured the project for establishing a 400 kV substation at Mekhali, along with associated transmission lines in Belagavi district, Karnataka, after being declared the L1 bidder by REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited. The project entails the development of a 400/220/33 kV air-insulated substation and related 400 kV and 220 kV transmission lines. It will be implemented on a build, own, operate and transfer basis under the tariff-based competitive bidding route with a concession period of 35 years from the commercial operation date. Dilip Buildcon will acquire 100 per cent equity in the project special purpose vehicle and will function as the transmission service provider, responsible for financing, design, engineering, procurement, construction, testing, commissioning, operations and maintenance of the transmission assets.
