Masdar has signed into a power purchase agreement (PPA) for a 150 MW solar project in Angola.
The agreement secures long-term electricity offtake for the Quipungo solar project which is located in Huila province in southern Angola. The PPA was signed with the Rede Nacional de Transporte de Electricidade. The Quipungo project represents the first contracted phase of Project Royal Sable, a planned 500 MW multi-site solar programme spread across three locations. The Quipungo project is the initial commercial anchor for the broader Project Royal Sable portfolio.
