ENGIE has secured a large-scale hybrid renewable energy project in India after winning a 200 MW solar photovoltaic project integrated with a 100 MW/600 MWh battery energy storage system through a competitive bidding process conducted by the Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI).
The project features a solar-plus-storage configuration with six hours of battery storage and is aimed at supporting grid reliability as renewable energy penetration increases. The award adds to ENGIE’s growing renewable and energy storage portfolio in India, where the company has close to 2 GW of renewable assets in operation and under construction.
