Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has secured a large contract for its heavy civil infrastructure business from Torrent Energy Storage Solutions Private Limited for the construction of the 3,000 MW Saidongar-1 pumped storage project (PSP) in Raigad district, Maharashtra.
The project is planned as India’s largest pumped storage facility and will comprise ten units of 300 MW each. The scope of the contract includes design, engineering and execution of all civil and hydro-mechanical works associated with the project. The Saidongar-1 pumped storage project is expected to play a key role in enhancing grid reliability and energy security by providing large-scale energy storage and peak power support.
