Kuwait’s PAHW awards KWD 36.5 million contracts for 400 kV UGC works at South Sabah Al-Ahmad City

Public Authority for Housing Welfare (PAHW) has awarded two contracts aggregating KWD 36.5 million for 400 kV underground cable (UGC) works to supply key substations at South Sabah Al-Ahmad Residential City.

The contracts cover the supply, installation, extension and maintenance of 400 kV UGCs to feed four 400/132/11 kV substations forming part of the city’s bulk power infrastructure. The first contract is valued at KWD 17.8 million and has been awarded to TBEA Shandong Luneng Taishan Cable Company Limited for cable works associated with substations 1Z and 4Z. The second turnkey contract, worth KWD 18.7 million, has been awarded to EGYTEK Cables LLC, a subsidiary of Elsewedy Electric, for similar works at substations 2Z and 3Z. Both contracts have a scheduled completion period of 26 months.
