Laos, Thailand and Malaysia partner to advance LTMS-PIP Phase 2 cross-border power trading framework

Electricité du Laos, Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) and Tenaga Nasional Berhad have signed a partnered under the Laos–Thailand–Malaysia–Singapore power integration project (LTMS-PIP Phase 2). The agreement formalises the framework for wheeling electricity generated in Laos to Singapore through the interconnected transmission networks of Thailand and Malaysia. The arrangement builds on the initial phase of LTMS-PIP and supports the progressive development of the ASEAN Power Grid. The initiative is aimed at enhancing regional power system integration, optimising resource utilisation and facilitating greater cross-border electricity trade among ASEAN member states.
