Reportedly, Madhya Pradesh government is planning to sign three agreements for development of 4,000 MW of new thermal power capacity, involving an estimated investment of about Rs 600 billion.
The projects follow the state’s approval to procure 4,000 MW of electricity from upcoming thermal power projects. Madhya Pradesh Power Management Company Limited has completed a competitive bidding process on a design, build, finance, own and operate basis for setting up new thermal power plants in the state. The developers have been selected for 3,200 MW under the tender with an additional 800 MW allotted under a greenshoe option.
