NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam Limited (NVVN), a wholly owned subsidiary of NTPC Limited, has announced the results of its 250 MW 500 MWh standalone battery energy storage system (BESS) tender.
Shreyas Sortex Industries emerged as the successful bidder securing the project at a tariff of Rs 181,000 per MW per month. The scope of work includes installation of the BESS at the 220 kV Brahmapuram substation in Kochi, Kerala with interconnection at the 220 kV voltage level within the jurisdiction of Kerala State Electricity Board Limited. The project will receive viability gap funding at a rate of Rs 1.8 million per MWh, amounting to Rs 900 million for the awarded capacity. Other bidders that participated in the auction include OPG Power Generation Private Limited, Oriana Power Limited, DB Power BESS Storage Limited, NTPC Green Energy Limited and Power Grid Corporation of India Limited.
