Civil & Electrical Projects Contracting Company (CEPCC) has completed high voltage testing for one of Riyadh’s longest 380 kV underground cable projects. T
he project comprises four 380 kV circuits, including two circuits of 29 km each and two circuits of 31 km each, positioning it as a large extra high voltage underground cable development in terms of scale and technical complexity. The high voltage testing was followed by partial discharge testing to confirm the integrity and long-term reliability of the cable insulation system. The testing configuration used parallel high voltage reactors rated at 260 kV and 80 A to enable controlled and stable voltage application across the long extra high voltage cable circuits.
