NTPC Green Energy Limited (NEGL) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Assago Industries Private Limited to develop and operationalise India’s first large-scale green urea production ecosystem at the upcoming Green Hydrogen Hub in Pudimadaka, Andhra Pradesh.
Under the arrangement, NGEL will supply green ammonia, captured carbon dioxide, renewable power and utilities to Assago Industries to enable green urea production using low carbon feedstock. The collaboration is aimed at supporting import substitution and reducing dependence on imported urea, while accelerating the shift towards sustainable fertiliser manufacturing.
