United Solar Holding has commenced polysilicon production at its 100,000 tonne per annum plant in Oman’s Sohar Freezone which is expected to support up to 40 GW of annual solar module output at full ramp up.
Shuangliang Hydrogen supplied four green power intelligent hydrogen production systems to the facility adding that the equipment achieved successful first-time start up and supported project commissioning. The Sohar facility will be the Middle East’s largest polysilicon manufacturing plant and is a linkage point for photovoltaic supply chains across Europe, Africa and Asia.
