Charisma Energy Services Limited’s wholly owned subsidiary, WKV Hydro Technics Private Limited has secured a letter of award (LoA) from Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) for the construction, ownership and operation of a 10 MW 40 MWh standalone battery energy storage system (BESS) in Sri Lanka under a 15-year operational mandate.
CEB had invited proposals on July 30, 2025 for BESS at selected grid substations, with the project aimed at storing excess energy, meeting peak demand and providing frequency regulation and response services.
