Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL) has reconnected unit-1 of the Tarapur Atomic Power Station (TAPS-1) to the electricity grid following completion of a life-extension programme.
The renovation and modernisation works were carried out to support long-term operational reliability and enhance safety margins. The life-extension activities were executed under stringent regulatory oversight and align with global nuclear safety standards. Similar renovation activities for Unit-2 are in an advanced stage of completion and the unit is expected to be reconnected to the grid shortly.
